Strengths: This driving wheel ROCKS!!!!! It really makes your games come alive. When you're driving you can feel the resistance of the wheel when you "turn from center". If there was a better, more realistic dri
Weaknesses: By far, the biggest weakness of the Driving Force Pro is that it does NOT work on every driving game that is offered on the PS2 format. Some games that are not listed on the Logitech site DO ACTUALLY
Summary: 2005-01-10 18:35:30 I love driving games, and the Logitech Driving Force PRO is the third driving wheel that I've owned. The first one was a Pelican from Gamestop for $60.00. The second was a Intec purchased from toysrus for $80.00. Both of the mentioned wheels were junk. Neither gave a good feel for the "road". In fact the Pelican wheel gave no feedback at all.
The Driving force PRO (I highlight "PRO" because there is a Driving Force wheel that is much cheaper and not quite as good) is exactly what I wanted in a PS2 wheel. You really do get sucked into the game much more than with the controller.
The gear shifter is fair but shifting with the wheel mounted paddles is really much easier.
The wheel feedback really is impressive. BUT.... I'm not sure if I find the 2-1/2 turns in each direction needed. Yes it really does mimic a real car but how often do you turn your car's wheel that much (parking maybe).
Buy this wheel, if you like driving games you'll love this driving wheel. I can't wait for Gran Torismo 4 to come out.
P.S. I bought mine at www.ICTcompany.com for $55.00 + $10.65 s/h. Refurbished, but what a super deal. Sugg retail is $149.00
M.B. (30 years old)
note: after you drive with the Driving Force Pro wheel, and the game "BURNOUT 3" don't be supprised if you get thoughts of smashing into other peoples "real" cars on the road. The line between real and play starts to get a bit fuzzy........ I Love IT.
CuT from above.... (weakness) games that are not listed on the Logitech site actually DO work with the wheel ex. "Ford Racing 2", "Super trucks racing". It's kind of a gamble as logitech support is not there on the game box. Expect that any game that lists [pressure sensative] will most likely work with the wheel. ATV off road fury 2 DOES NOT work, already tried it (bummer).
Have not tried it but apparently you can plug the Driving force Pro wheel into your computer running winxp (via the USB connection for both PS2 & PC) and play computer based driving games (bonus)
Hope this helps.

Strengths: Compared to it's cheaper model this one is much better becuase it has more resistance when you turn. It also have a spike stripe on that bottom so that it stays on the carpet and never move.
Weaknesses: can't say there is one except that it doesn't come with a lap holder when driving away from a desk.
Summary: I have tried the other force feedback from logitech and this one is much better because it has a seperate manuel shift knob. The cheaper version just has the auto shift on the back of the steering wheel. There is more resistance on this wheel and it is definitly worth the extra money.

Strengths: Nice Feedback, quite enough sensitivity. Stick shifting available. Everything except its weakness
Weaknesses: Lap attachment is not included. USB cable is kind of short. Can't use stick shift and F-1 type shift buttons, located on the back of steering, at the same time.
Summary: 2004-10-12 09:06:38 I have GT3 and GT4 prologue, and I am enjoying 240 degree with GT3 and 900 degree with GT4 prologue. This steering wheel is not too sensitive so I can enjoy driving.
However, when I need to turn hard and shift down, I have to control the steering only with my left hand and shift down with my right hand. I know there are R1 and L1 buttons on the back of steering, but since stick shift is set as R3 and L3, I can use both at the same time.
So, I can enjoy shifting either just like the way of Driving Force or using stick shift.
This expensive steering wheel does NOT come with a lap attachment, and I check its website and it says "Lap attachment will be sold separately."
USB cable is kind of short so I need additional USB extention cable. Its length is about 4/5 or 3/4 of PS2 dual shock controller.
Even though it has some weaknesses I put 5-star on it.

Strengths: 900 degree turning with rumble feedback is awesome!
Weaknesses: Only works with PS2...I wish it would work with XBOX also.
Summary: If you are looking to buy a steering wheel for the PS2, look no further, this one is great! Almost makes you feel like you're driving the real thing. It really takes video gaming to the next level.

Strengths: You should test this with GT4 series games to appreciate the improvements. Much better on older games too.
Weaknesses: Not good for people who are just gamers. Here you have to drive cars, not playstation controllers. Longer leads are cheap investments.
Summary: the wheel is fantastic. It leaves other versions for dead. It has better force feedback in old and new games. I got all gold in GT4 Prologue with it in a couple of weeks. You need to set it up properly, after all your car wheel doesn't slide all over the dash does it. Some reveiwers seem to lack the patience to do this. This is a revolution in home gaming technology.

Strengths: Good quality rubber on the wheel, buttons ergonomically placed. Good rubber stopper and fold away spikes to hold the pedals in place when used on carpet.
Weaknesses: Does not come with a stand to secure the wheel on so you would have to either order the lap attachment or use a table that might not be comfortable. Costly.
Summary: Feels like a real steering wheel, absolutely the best driving experience you'll can get. Better than other wheels in the market. There's even shift buttons on the back of the wheel.

Strengths: strong force feedback, supporting 900 deg for reality, various force feedback reactions, supporting pc environment as well as ps2.
Weaknesses: too expensive compared with other products, pedals are not durable
Summary: 2005-02-25 19:51:39 It is my first wheel from logitech, but I have a logitech's flight stick (wingman force 3d). Its force feedback was really good but it has a big problem with calibration because it is not well centered and unstable around center position. That always made me uncomfortable to control planes and those bad experience made me decide never to buy a product from logitech. But 900 deg rotation fascinated me and could not help buying it. Although I have a playstation 2, I don't have any racing game for ps2 and so my review is for PC.
Ok let's see how it is.
Wheel rotation: supports 2 modes; 200 and 900 deg. Mode can be toggled by pushing select+R3+right shifter(behind the wheel). Its a main strong point of this wheel which makes difference from others. If it were not for this property, I would not buy it because it is from logitech and too expensive compared with others.
Force feedback: It provides 2 modes for force feedback as well as for wheel rotation. The way to toggle is to push select+R3+left shifter. The reason for two modes, logitech says, is that it may be too strong for some games. But I did not feel much difference between them. You can experience various force feedback reactions if games are providing them. Feedback is very strong and I usually set it 60%.
Compatibility: It supports PC as well as PS2. You can save money if you have both like me.
pedals: It is made of plastic and I have known its problem(someone says it is a bug from design) before I bought it. Internal potentiometers are directly connected to pedals and many people are experiencing CAN'T-STEP-DOWN FULLY because shaking pedal displaces a potentiometer from its original place. It may irritate you while you are playing a game and make you throw it out. You can recalibrate pedals in PC environment but not in PS2. If you are using it for only PS2, you need to send it back to a factory to fix it.
price: too expensive compared with other similar products, which have almost same properties except 900 deg mode.
In summary, it's a cool wheel I have ever had, but it has a pedal bug and it is too expensive. If you are an only ps2 user, I don't recommend it. If 900 deg rotation does not fascinates you, do buy other cheap products. It is the best way to save money.

Strengths: Arcade Quality Realism
Weaknesses: Limited mounting options
Summary: I was surprised at how forceful the force feedback is, this is not cheap wheel, it reminded me of the wheels you'd find on an arcade machine. It adds new fun and realism to the game, on the dirt tracks the wheel goes nuts.
I was disappointed that the only mounting option is the fit it to the lip of a table, I wish there were more options beside the optional lap mount thing they try to peddle.
I was also disappointed that my game didn't improve just by buying the wheel. I was expecting my time on GT4 to go down. The wheel makes it more fun, and didn't make my times worse, I guess I need to keep practicing.
If you want a wheel for driving, I'd recommend this one, very sturdy.

Strengths: This force feedback wheel makes games come alive. you feel the resistance . heavy & well built
Weaknesses: often shifts using the buttons on the wheel, not using the seperate shifter
Summary: makes racing games exceptional, such as burnout 3, gran turisimo. not a toy, is heavy & will take a beating. found it harder to drive than with the standard controller but more realistic, great feel of the road

Strengths: Precision steering mechanism similar to a real car's, and very small "dead zone".
Weaknesses: None that I've discovered so far.
Summary: Awesome! This wheel was definitely worth the wait! I'm not a gamer, but a car enthusiast, so I bought a PS2 and Driving Force Pro wheel specifically to play GT4. I can honestly say that the wheel is a must for GT4, and both the wheel and game were definitely worth the wait!

Strengths: Definitely worth every penny I paid for this. The overall ease of use and set up were beyond my expectation.
Weaknesses: I don't like the fact that if you don't use a table, it's hard to use the wheel. The grippers on the bottom of the pedals tends to shift at numerous times while gaming.
Summary: Overall, after spending a week looking for the best price. Ebuyer was a great choice to make in purchasing this equipment. I highly recommend and won't hesitate to do business with them in the future.

Strengths: High quality materials/workmanship in the wheel
Weaknesses: Short cables, flimsy desktop attachment system, pedals move, weak force feedback effects in GT3:A-Spec, vague tracking when wheel is near center
Summary: I read all the glowing reviews of this steering wheel and eagerly dropped the cash to try it out with Gran Turismo 3: A-spec. Unfortunately, it's been quite disappointing - I am going to return it shortly.
-The USB cable is very short. I can't reach my PS2 from the sofa/coffee table; I have to move the coffee table closer to the TV and sit on a stool so that the cable will reach.
-The wheel attaches to a tabletop with two clamps that screw down through the unit. The clamps are made of plastic that flex and bend, making the wheel shift. I don't know if this affects gameplay, but it certainly is annoying.
-The pedals have a spiky section that folds down to grip a carpeted surface. However, I noticed the pedals moving further away from where I was sitting after only a few laps, requiring that I reposition it.
-Weak/nonexistant force feedback effects. I never noticed the wheel 'fighting' me, any vibration, anything at all. I even rammed some walls at high speed just to see if anything would happen. Maybe my unit is defective, but it was extremely disappointing. There was no feedback around sharp turns, no feeling the car sliding, no rumbling if you went off the track or onto a rumble strip.
-The wheel seems 'floppy' or loose when near the center (say, maybe within 60 degrees either way from center). A normal car gives consistent feeling when you turn the wheel, this wheel, you can feel it being extremely loose near the center, with very vague effects on the screen - you turn the wheel, and the car may or may not make the subtle movement that you are trying to achieve. Once you get near the 200 degree limit, you can feel significantly more resistance.
All in all, I was very disappointed with this wheel. It seems that I got an entirely different wheel than what the websites reviewed. But if this IS the best wheel for the PS2, looks like I'll never buy one. Just overall a huge disappointment. See if you can try a friend's wheel before you buy.

Strengths: Full rubber wheel is comfortable. Force Feedback makes driving more realistic. Support both PC and PS2 through USB.
Weaknesses: The two clamps of wheel station is the only option to mount it. Pedal base is easy to slide.
Summary: Expensive, it is personal preference to consider the features 900 degrees of wheel rotation and force feedback worth that much.
With that price, Logitech should give out Lap Attachment as second option and not to buy separately to cost customer more.

WHERE can I find just the "pedal assembly" for my Driving Force⢠EX Wheel ? The wheel is fine. The pedal bracket broke and I want to just purchase the pedal assembly only.

Strengths: My first thought after taking it out of thew box was the Acura NSX I had for a while. This steering wheel is simply AWESOME!
Weaknesses: Only that the company doesn't offer a matching full size chair with the same quality
Summary: Until now, I didn't know anyone made gaming controllers that resembled the 'real' world. This wheel feels like it is right off a sleek sports car. The wheel itself is textured (two types) firm, but soft, rubber. The inset is powder brushed metal with a brushed steel metal emblem ring in the center. The control buttons are placed in ideal configuration for tapping them as you hold the wheel. Four of the buttons are made of metal feel material. The button click is really nice too. The performance of the wheel matches it's appearance. Wish a had a car that matched the quality of this wheel.
Very convinient attaching bars. Will fit on both thin (3/4") tables or thick (2") desk tops like mine. I love being able to pull it up and attach it in moments, race, then take it off and store it under my desk again. I like this product so much that I will probably buy another a second one to have as a 'back-up" in case something ever happens to this one.
I purchase this online, but f I had seen it in a store, I would have expected the price to be over $200. Definitely a five star buy!
